Sew Your Own Pregnancy & Nursing Pillow
Fabrics
This pattern allows you to sew a nursing pillow with a removable cover—so practical for easy cleaning!
You will need 2 types of fabric: one for the pillow and one for the cover.
For fabrics that are 140 cm (≈55") wide, you’ll need:
- 135 cm (531/8") for the pillow,
- and 135 cm (531/8") for the cover.
Supplies
In addition to the fabrics (and, of course, your sewing machine!), you'll need to choose a closure system for the cover.
- Beginner sewists: 75 cm (291/2" of snap tape, easy to install.
- Experienced sewists: 2 invisible zippers (40 cm - 153/4") that match your cover fabric.
Now, it’s time to choose your pillow filling:
- 3 kg (6 lb 10 oz) of flax seeds or spelt hulls for an eco-friendly filling.
- or 700 g (1 lb 8 oz) of polystyrene microbeads for an ultra-light pregnancy pillow!
